PERCEPTUAL PATHWAYS

Perceptual Pathways is a design proposal for a Streetcar pavilion in New Orleans, Louisiana. This pavilion encourages users to consider visual impairments and the spectrum of eyesight in terms of what is more or less difficult to see. By looking through transparent to opaque materials, viewers will learn about glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and complete blindness. This educational art installation will raise awareness through play and discovery, emphasizing the fragility of our vision.
